It takes cues from the gospel, blues and folk traditions as well as avant-garde composition techniques.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEssentially a song-suite centred around grand piano with occasional percussion, harmonica, field recordings and guitar, the album starts with a world collapsing before presenting the listener with an imagined future where Jordan channels a series of personae traversing a surreal landscape inhabited by the victims of oppressive forces. With plaintive, soulful and fragile expressions of defiance, nostalgia and hope Jordan’s jaw-dropping creation is as mind-bending as it is familiar.
