Irish musician Maria Somerville presents Luster, her long-awaited second album and debut release on 4AD. Written and recorded in her childhood home in Connemara, the album marks a return to her roots — blending dream pop, ambient textures and folk influences across 12 deeply atmospheric tracks.
Inspired by the landscapes of rural Ireland and supported by a close circle of collaborators (including Suzanne Kraft, J. Colleran, and Ian Lynch of Lankum), Luster expands Somerville’s sound while retaining her hypnotic vocal style and intimate songwriting.
Featuring the singles “Projections” and “Garden” (with a video by Anna Heisterkamp), Luster signals a new creative chapter, with a full band tour planned for 2025.
