Bergpolder / Netherlands / RE 2023
Bergpolder #09 is a limited edition (240 copies) 12" vinyl release by Ilta Hämärä, the duo of Timo van Luijk (Af Ursin, Elodie) and Bart de Paepe (Sloow Tapes, Sylvester Anfang II). The record features three tracks from a 2016 tour tape, plus an additional piece from the same period.
The music stems from a live performance during a MiMa night in Rotterdam, held the night before Kraak Fest. The atmosphere of that evening was memorable—intimate, emotional, and somewhat chaotic (including a broken toilet that sent attendees to Hostel de Mafkees nearby).
The show was described as evoking the mood of Paris, Texas, with dreamy Korg synths and emotive guitar work. Also performing were Timeless Reality (featuring Family Underground), delivering raw, lo-fi garage vibes.
The resulting music is described as soul-stirring and dreamlike—“moving like a flying carpet.” It's an evocative blend of ambient, experimental, and psychedelic textures—music for the soul.
