Manchester’s Michael J. Blood finally launches his own eponymous imprint with Bloodlines 1, a raw and uncompromising collection of tracks that further cements his reputation as one of the most unpredictable producers in the UK today. Known for his "no-nonsense" approach and his collaborations with the likes of Rat Heart, Blood delivers a sound that feels like a collision between smoked-out basement hip-hop and skeletal, distorted house music.

The album is a gritty journey through MPC-driven rhythms, dusty samples, and overdriven basslines. It’s music that sounds "live" and unpolished in the best way possible—capturing the hazy, nocturnal energy of Manchester’s DIY electronic scene. Rather than polished club tracks, these are sketches of moods and late-night experiments, ranging from slow-motion head-nodders to frenetic, fractured grooves.

FFO: Rat Heart (Ensemble), Theo Parrish (at his rawest), Moodymann, Dean Blunt, and the AnyWhichWay or Apron Records sound.
