Fibre-Fusion is Vica Pacheco's second full-length album, following Symplegmata, released on the Belgian label KRAAK in 2020. It continues her work on mutation and the energies that are released from new forms of life. Mexican artist, now based in Brussels, Vica Pacheco combines archaic and technological elements to create a mythology of invisible spheres.

One of the challenges of her music lies in the conception of an atmosphere conducive to the evolution of her sounds in constant metamorphosis. The musician exploits the principles of electroacoustics by detaching them from their arid components. In Hemisferio, we feel this ample movement that traces wide borders where long singing layers announce a new horizon.

Thus, many autonomous cells take refuge in this primordial breath. Beyond the low drums that give rhythm to Fibre-Fusion, Vica Pacheco reveals a whole panel of dry percussive objects. Mineral components of this symbiotic system, they clatter, clash, ricochet and carry with them a jerky cadence that shakes up an environment that does not tolerate immobility.

At the heart of this self-managed wasteland, the human being occupies a place that is constantly being reconsidered. The artist's voice weaves the link between singularity and communion. The last piece, Xóchitl, begins like an invocation, a call to surrender oneself. But if the signifier escapes very quickly, the song takes root in the harmony and humbly escorts artificial birds and synthetic arabesques.
