Originally released in 2014—some twenty years after Basic Channel’s seminal series appeared to cease—the Q-Loop 12" is a key vinyl entry in the label’s sacred catalogue.
The release presents the full 14-minute version of title track 'Q-Loop', which was previously only available in a truncated 5-minute edit on 1995's BCD compilation. The B-side collects two former CD exclusives pressed to wax for the first time: the sub-aquatic chord progressions of 'Q 1.2' and the grey-scale ambient textures of 'Mutism'.
Nearly thirty years since their creation, these three cuts remain untouchable works of sound design, planting a firm flag in the space between kosmische Musik, Detroit techno, and abstract dub.
