At last, we have in our hands the copies of this co-production we were lucky to be part of, together with Tax Free Records, TRjj Compiler, iRiAi Verlag and All Night Flight. An edition charged with that almost domestic energy that defines the project: music made by hand, among friends, without a script, and guided by the joy of following the unexpected.
GUU brings together eleven pieces in which everything seems to be in motion: breathing percussion, winds and strings that bend and reshape, electronic textures that unfold and fold back like echoes from another time. It’s music that builds itself as it happens, free from any anxiety to conclude, as if time were stretching around the sound, with instruments that speak, bend and transform to create their own small sonic ecosystem.
At its core are Max Stocklosa, Seb, Sebastian von der Heide and Max Graef, finding a balance between free improvisation and a sense of rhythm that’s as elastic as it is precise. Their music seems to grow by itself, like a conversation that flows effortlessly, full of small interruptions and happy coincidences.
The album keeps the unmistakable aura of the TRjj universe, a kind of open-form laboratory filled with irony, fluid rhythm and an analog sensitivity that turns the experimental into something intimate and tactile. Between electronic drift, diffuse jazz and sonic collage, GUU unfolds as an experience that moves between the cosmic and the everyday, letting the sound breathe on its own.
The result is a kind of expanded improvisation, infused with subtle humor and analog warmth, faithful to the spirit of iRiAi, Tax Free and TRjj, making music not to control time, but to drift along with it.
A record that continues to expand the sonic map of Tax Free, TRjj & co., music that doesn’t seek to explain, only to create a space where you can lose yourself for a while.
