Youdonthavetocallitmusic / Germany / 2007 / LP, Limited Edition, Numbered
Third release on Stefan Bremer’s Youdonthavetocallitmusic label (following the Kommissar Hjuler / Mama Bär and Nikolaus Einhorn LPs), this is an ambitious, high-production outing by composer Karl Bösmann.
Housed in a striking silver-on-black embossed jacket, the release includes a printed inner sleeve, an insert with liner notes in both German and English, and three collectible postcard inserts. Limited to a hand-numbered edition of 500 copies.
Crafted entirely using original instruments—no samples were used—the album delivers escalating drones that evoke the sound worlds of Cluster/Kluster, merged with the weight and texture of KTL or Sunn O))), and vocal performances reminiscent of Ghedalia Tazartes or Tibetan monks.
The 20-minute title track stands out as a slow-building, immersive piece, drawing comparisons to a denser, evolving version of Nurse With Wound's "Soliloquy for Lilith".
