Magrava is Cyril Meysson on electric guitar and Rodolphe Loubatière on drums: an abstract, noise, free improv' duo based between St Etienne (FR) and Geneva (CH). In October 2019 they released their excellent first album on WVSorcerer Records, and toured France and Switzerland for the following month.
L'Écluse is an experimental folk-noise ensemble based in Strasbourg (FR) mixing elements of traditional music with drone, noise, improvisation and rock, using amplified acoustic and folk instruments such as bagpipes, violins, acoustic guitars, bells and hurdy-gurdies. This concert features Lise Barkas & Félix Chaillou-Delecourt on hurdy-gurdy, Lisa Käuffert on bagpipes, Zoe Heselton & Léonie Risjeterre on six and twelve string guitars.
This concert was organised and recorded live in November 2019 at Diamant d'Or— Strasbourg's most wonderful DIY stronghold for weird music ! The first and final tracks of the cassette are l'Écluse and Magrava's respective live sets, while the second and third tracks are edits of the set improvised by Magrava & l'Écluse together to close the evening.
