Emerging from the self-managed creative hub of Liceo Mutante in Pontevedra, Galicia, Vino marks the official full-length debut of Pablo Y Los Ciervos Dorados. Spearheaded by main songwriter Pablo Corbillón (formerly of Carne Blanca and Columna Vegana) alongside Elena Corbillón (drums), Álex Otero (bass), and Rodrigo Cota (keyboards), the album was released physically via the independent label Humo Internacional.
Recorded live in a single continuous session by sound engineer Ibán Pérez at Terraforma Studios, the seven-track album eschews digital polish and production gimmicks in favor of a raw, unvarnished performance. Built around unhurried arrangements and unpolished room sound, Vino balances dynamic contrasts—moving from quiet, drawn-out verses to sudden outbursts of guitar noise and vocal catharsis.
Lyrically and structurally, Corbillón draws inspiration as much from classical literary tropes and narrative short stories as from traditional song forms. The album moves seamlessly between austere acoustic picking and dense, slow-burning instrumentation, tracing a musical lineage that connects classic American folk roots and classic Velvet Underground minimalism with 1990s slowcore (Red House Painters, Slint) and Jeff Buckley-esque vocal phrasing.
